Dear
Colleague:
Americans
across the country will soon come together to celebrate Thanksgiving
and from there launch full swing into the holiday season.
The holidays, by their nature, are emotional times. This year many
people will carry the impact of the events that began September
11. Naturally, given the losses people have suffered, the state
of war that exists, and the way recent traumas ignite remembrances
and reliving of past experiences, many people have questions about
how to cope with the holidays.
Today,
I have attached a bulletin on helping people deal with the holidays.
Please distribute it to anyone who might benefit from it.
I also encourage you to visits the web site of the organization
Gift From
Within where
you can find excellent information on PTSD and overcoming trauma.
Best
wishes,
Susan Herman
Executive Director
P.S.
